Our story!

For several years now I have had the urge to travel which has been a dream of mine before marriage and children. My husband was never keen on the idea until one afternoon in 2016 he said, "let's do this!" The next day I began to sell, donate and give away items from my home. He was a bit shocked when he got home from work. I immediately called a realtor and our home sold within 24 hours for more than we were asking. I had sold, donated and given away EVERYTHING so that the day we moved we didn't even need a truck. We were able to drive away with everything we had left in both our vehicles. We moved to a smaller place directly across from the beach to enjoy the sunrise and sunsets for the following year before taking off to travel full time!

Visiting Milan, Italy

 


What fantastic architecture there is in Milan to see. The best way for us to get an idea of what we want to see is to get on a hop on hop off bus which is located in front of the Duomo Cathedral. The bus ride took us through the historic parts of Milan and the modern parts as well. It’s a great way to plan what we are going to see while we are there visiting. 

We found that the Airbnb prices were better than the hotel prices and we very much enjoyed our accommodations. The hosts of our Airbnb’s recommended we use the metro’s and trams to get from the airport to the apartments but we found that route to be daunting. In some areas we had to climb over 100 steps to get out of the metro. Can you imagine that with your luggage? No thanks, so we just went via taxi even though it cost more, it was well worth the convenience.

My brother-in-law and his wife joined us to visit Milan so we explored together. This was our first time in Italy for all of us.
