We just recently upgraded to a 30 foot Majestic Thor that we purchased from Cruise America. My husband had been researching them for about a year and we decided to check them out while we were up north in Delaware. We took a trip to Washington DC to the local Cruise America dealership and both were happy with one particular rig that we had seen. It was decided!
The Majestic Thor was purchased before we sold our current RV so we could take our time in transferring our things. We were staying at a campground in Maryland at the time of purchase and reserved the site next to the Minnie to make the transfer easily. The next day we took the Minnie to our nephews work lot to clean it up and get it ready for sale. It sat there a few days and one of the employees wanted to check it out to possibly purchase. He and his wife looked and loved it immediately. It sold!
One thing about RV's is they do not depreciate like a car does. In some cases an RV gains value being sold used. People prefer used RV's because they feel any problems have already been handled. It's true, because our first rig was new and there were just little things that needed to be dealt with right away. Our second rig was used and there were less issues.
Our first two rigs were Winnebago which we felt has a good product reputation. Our new Majestic Thor from Cruise America also has a good reputation which encouraged us to purchase. It has one of the few warranty's that has good reviews. We didn't purchase any warranties with the first two rigs because we didn't want to be forced to have to bring the rig in to their maintenance departments. When constantly traveling that could be problematic. The few times that we did maintenance we were able to call a mobile repair person and have things done right away and the cost was very doable. The difference in the Majestic Thor warranty is that we can choose how to take care of the maintenance and will be reimbursed. That's perfect for us!
Here are 4 pictures of how we began and then upgraded. If you should have any questions about RV's or RV maintenance then let us know. My husband Jimmy has become the RV guru these days. He stays on top of repairs and is good with advise on the rig you are best suited for you personally. He has a vast knowledge of all things RV!
We have been in our new rig now a couple of months and it has just been tremendous. The main reason for our wanting more room was for me to be able to have an area to do artwork. Also, I have insomnia and I am able to shut the door to the bedroom and turn the light on our in the living space to do what I need to be working on at the moment. Before we were sharing the same space and I would sit in the dark or with a head lamp on to work on things. I had to be more quiet and didn't have much room to work on my projects. It has definitely been a game changer for me personally because like tonight I can sit here and type up a blog without the sound of the keys interfering with my husbands sleep! Yay!
